Job Openings: Branch Manager, Full Time, Alpena Headquarters

Days:Typically 40 hours per week (occassional evening and/or weekends may be required to meet the needs of the members)
Hours:Branches are open M-W 9-5, TH-F 9-6, Sat 9-1, Sun Closed.

Duties:

About the Position: The primary purpose of this position is to assist Northland Area Federal Credit Union in living out its Service Mission, “To be our members’ most trusted financial partner.” To achieve this, the branch manager must develop a highly effective team of employees and develop each employee to their highest potential through coaching and leadership. The branch manager must ensure that outstanding service is delivered to members.

 

 

What You Get To Do:

  • Responsible to direct, schedule, coordinate and monitor all member service activities at the branch in accordance with established bylaws, regulations, policies and procedures, including security and maintenance

  • Ensure all sales and service goals are achieved. Ensure team delivers service to both internal and external members that are in alignment with the Credit Union’s Service Promises

  • Provides effective and efficient management of the branch including member deposit, loan and relationship growth, as well as, strong member satisfaction and loyalty

  • Lead by example by consistently upholding the Credit Union's mission, goals, policies, standards and procedures in a professional manner

  • Continually develop each employee to their highest potential by appropriately evaluating, coaching and training, as well as, recognizing those that perform at a high level. Hold employees accountable for performance and conduct

  • Maintains a highly motivated, well-trained staff using effective employee relations and leadership

  • Conduct loan interviews, process and close loan requests; conduct new account orientation, process and open new accounts, and service existing account relationships

  • Responsible for cultivating community awareness and generating new business and referrals in the community

  • Demonstrate a high level of commitment to community involvement

  • Perform back-up duties and responsibilities of team as well as other duties as assigned

Requirements:

 

About the Person:  

The focus of this position is working with others, building and maintaining relationships, and working closely and accurately within established guidelines. There is a need for an effective communicator, someone who is able to stimulate and motivate others while being aware of and responsive to their needs and concerns. The person in this position must be friendly and genuinely interested in the needs of others, which includes our members, management, teammates, volunteers and community involvement.

 

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of successfully leading employees and meeting goals. Requires a professional approach in dealing with problems, members and staff, as well as, excellent written and verbal communication skills. This position requires flexibility to travel and the ability to make effective decisions. Must possess strong administrative, management and supervision skills. Must be highly motivated to maintain a high performing service culture, as well as meet established goals.

 

Additionally, the ideal candidate for this position must possess the following:

  • Minimum of 3 years credit union, financial institution or equivalent relevant work experience is required. Four or more years of management or other related experience is desired
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
  • State of Michigan Credit Insurance Producer License obtained within 12 months of acquiring position

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Typical indoor office environment with occasional travel and driving away from the branch for training, community involvement and outreach, etc. Must be able to frequently remain in either a sitting or standing position and occasionally move about/traverse inside the branch. Requires occasional bending, reaching and lifting/carrying of 50 pounds or less. Must be able to continuously communicate to others and exchange information. Requires repetitive use of hand/fingers, such as keyboard typing, counting cash, using office equipment, etc. Must be able to continuously think analytically, concentrate on tasks and remember names and/or details.
