Duties:

Position will be temporarily assigned to Oscoda until the completion of the new headquarter location and then will be reassigned to Alpena (expected Spring 2020).

The HR Coordinator will primarily work out of the headquarter location but will provide human resource assistance to all 15 Northland locations. The HR Coordinator has primary responsibility for recruitment, payroll, status changes, and benefits administration under the direction of the Assistant Vice President of Human Resources. They also provide administrative support for the Human Resources Department as needed, including, but not limited to record keeping, file maintenance, and HRIS data entry.

Requirements:

Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.

 

 Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree; two (2) years of Human Resource and/or payroll experience strongly preferred.

  Professional designation and/or certification preferred (CHRS, CPS, PHR, SHRM-CP).

Additional Desired Attributes:

The successful candidate will be professional in demeanor; a self-starter with a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documents. Requires excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as, considerable knowledge of principles and practices of personnel administration. Requires strong working knowledge in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. The successful candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, have the ability to think analytically and be able to prioritize and manage constant interruptions throughout the workday without losing efficiency or productivity

Misc Comments:

Typical indoor office environment. Must be able to remain stationary for long periods of time in a sitting position. Must be able to frequently reach, stand and move about inside the office to access computers, equipment, cabinets, etc. Requires occasional bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, pushing/pulling, and lifting and/or carrying of 50 or more pounds. Requires continuous communication to others and exchanging of information, as well as, continuous repetitive use of hand/fingers. Must be able to continuously think analytically, concentrate on tasks and remember names and/or details. Requires frequent use of written communication, as well as, handling of handle stress and/or emotions. Must participate in IT on call rotation.
