Hours:Branches are open M-W 9-5, TH-F 9-6, Sat 9-1, Sun Closed.

Duties:

The primary purpose of this position is to assist Northland Area Federal Credit Union in living out its Service Mission, "To be our members’ most trusted financial partner." One of the primary means to achieve this end is to develop a highly effective team of employees and develop each employee to their highest potential through coaching and leadership. Responsible for ensuring that outstanding service is delivered to both internal and external members. A key component of this service is to identify the financial needs of the member and recommend an appropriate credit union solution. Responsible for the daily oversight of a branch including leadership and development of staff, all branch operations, lending, product sales and member service in accordance with the Credit Union’s mission and long-term goals. In addition, this position is responsible for attaining established goals through active participation in promoting Credit Union products and services and through community outreach and involvement to enhance new and existing member relationships and business opportunities.

2. Lead by example by consistently upholding the Credit Union’s mission, goals, policies, standards and procedures in a professional manner

3. Continually develop each employee to their highest potential by appropriately evaluating, coaching, training, recognizing those that perform at a high level and/ or correcting the employees performance

4. Maintains a highly motivated, well-trained staff using effective employee relations

5. Hold employees accountable for performance standards and conduct

6. Ensure that branch meets established sales and service goals

7. Demonstrate enthusiastic support of corporate mission, core values and long-term objectives

 

8. Direct, schedule, coordinate and monitor activities at the branch to ensure quality of work and compliance with established bylaws, regulations, policies, established internal and external service standards and procedures

9. Perform back-up duties and responsibilities of subordinates

10. Continually monitor all security measures for branch office and ensure safeguards are followed properly at all times

11. Conduct loan interviews, process and close loan requests; conduct new account interviews, process and open new accounts, and service existing account relationships

12. Effective and efficient management of a branch including member deposit, loan and relationship growth and strong member satisfaction and loyalty

13. Responsible for strengthening existing member relationships, focusing on the promotion of products and services to increase deposits, as well as, residential mortgage, consumer and small business loans to meet established goals and objectives

14. Proactively identifies opportunities for developing new loan and deposit relationshipsto meet established goals and objectives

15. Demonstrates a commitment to community involvement by participating in various organizations and events to strengthen relationships with the communities served by the Credit Union

16. Responsible for promoting Credit Life and Credit Disability Insurance sales to members, by utilizing the CUNA Mutual Lender Development Program. Must obtain Resident Insurance Producer License within 12 months of acquiring position.

17. Must ensure that CUNA Mutual Lender Development Program participants meets their individual and branch goals for both Credit Life Disability Insurance and Credit Disability Insurance for the 12-month performance period

18. Monitor and report building maintenance, repairs and janitorial services needs

 

Requirements:

Associate’s degree in business management, or comparable relevant work experience

Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license

State of Michigan Credit Insurance Producer License obtained within 12 months of acquiring position

Additional Desired Attributes:

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, business management, banking, or other related field. Five or more years of experience in financial services, credit unions, banking, sales, management or other related field.

Misc Comments:

Typical indoor office environment with occasional travel and driving away from the branch for training, community involvement and outreach, etc. Must be able to frequently remain in either a sitting or standing position and occasionally move about/traverse inside the branch. Requires occasional bending, reaching and lifting/carrying of 50 pounds or less. Must be able to continuously communicate to others and exchange information. Requires repetitive use of hand/fingers, such as keyboard typing, counting cash, using office equipment, etc. Must be able to continuously think analytically, concentrate on tasks and remember names and/or details. Requires frequent written communication and handling of stress/emotions. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
