Northland offers free by Android App, iPhone App, and iPad App. View transaction history and account balances, transfer funds between accounts, and view alerts.
Northland does not charge a fee for mobile services, but please check with your cell phone/internet service providers before accessing Mobile Banking. Any usage fees they charge will apply.
From your digital account, click on accounts under your name, select the account you want to search, enter the dollar amount or the payee name in the search bar and click done. You can also add filters by clicking on the filter icon to the right of the search bar.
You will be able to view up to 1 year of transaction history on your mobile device.
You can check your earnings by clicking on the cashback balance at the top of the Cashback+ homepage or by going to the “Redeem” page from the menu.

Select Cashback+ from within your account dashboard
You can access previously purchased gift cards either through the email confirmation you received when you purchased or through your Cashback+ Wallet. The Cashback+ Wallet stores all of your previously purchased digital gift cards for safe storage and easy usage. You can access it from the menu within Cashback+.
Set up all of your Northland accounts so that you can quickly switch accounts when using Digital Banking.
1. Click the profile icon in the top right-hand corner of your screen.
2. Choose Switch Accounts.
3. Click Add Switch Account.
4. Fill in the Username & Password field for the account you are adding.
5. To protect the security of the account you are linking, select the delivery method you prefer to receive a Verification Code.
6. Enter the 6-digit Verification Code to Continue.
7. Your switch accounts will appear on the Switch Accounts page. To switch between accounts simply click on the account username.
Contact information can be changed by visiting any Northland Branch, by calling us directly at 989-739-1401, or by logging into your Digital Banking Account.
You can earn cashback rewards by purchasing digital gift cards to use to pay for your orders at brands in-store or online.
Available brands are shown in the Cashback+ Pay app on your iPhone or by visiting the Status Page on your computer.
To pay with Cashback+ Pay online, open the pop-up at checkout, enter the amount, and pay with your connected Northland account to receive instant cashback and a gift card code. For in-store purchases, use the Cashback+ Pay app, select the in-store option, enter the amount, and use the displayed gift card code to complete your payment.
To redeem your Cashback+ cashback balance, navigate to the “Redeem” page. Select the Northland Account you wish to transfer your cashback to. It is instant and there are never any minimums.
Gift card usage is dependent on the specific brand and their policies. Brands typically allow for gift cards to be used wherever checkout is allowed.
Cashback+ Offers allows you to earn cashback when you pay for your next purchase with digital gift cards. All you have to do is select a brand, use your Northland account to purchase a digital gift card and use the gift card to pay at checkout. The bonus tags show you how much extra value you’ll earn as you purchase and your digital card is delivered in seconds.
Login to your Digital Banking Account and click on the menu icon on the bottom, right on a mobile device and upper right on a desktop.
- Choose Loan Payoff Calculator
- If you have any eligible loans to pay off, select the account & fill in the date you want to pay off the loan
- Click Calculate Payoff Amount
Passwords cannot include your name, member number or SSN/EIN
From within your digital banking account, click on your Profile icon and select Security which will take you to the Security Validation page:
- Click the Change Password button
- Input your Old Password
- Input a New Password
- Confirm your New Password
- Click Save
Click on the Customize icon on the right side of the page under the blue banner, and select Accounts or Dashboard to customize how you manage your Northland accounts.
- Toggle the button On or Off to select accounts you want visible or hidden on your dashboard
- The eye icon indicates that your account is visible on your dashboard
- The eye with a diagonal line in front indicates a hidden account on your dashboard
- Use the 6 vertical dots icon to change the order of the accounts on your dashboard
Update your profile image and contact information, such as phone, Email, and address by selecting the Menu icon at the bottom, right from a mobile device, and upper right on a desktop. Then scroll down to Profile and highlight and edit the sections you want to update. Then click Save Changes.
Get a great view of your account activity and detailed information on logins, transactions & device information. Use these helpful tools to help monitor your accounts for suspicious activity. To view the Activity Log, click on the menu button on the bottom, right on a mobile device and upper right on a desktop. Then scroll down and click on Activity Log.
To activate the Spending Analysis feature:
- Click on Dashboard and click Activate on the Spending Analysis box.
- Read the disclosures. If you agree to the terms and conditions, click Accept.
- You should now be able to view your Spending Analysis
- The 3 verticle dots icon allows you to choose how many days are included in the analysis directly from the dashboard
- Click on View More Details to customize the accounts, categories, and days included in the analysis
To Customize Category Groups within Spending Analysis:
- Choose Account Type (Checking, Savings, etc.)
- Click on Transaction
- Edit Name and change the category by making a selection from the drop-down menu
Subscription Alerts allow you to choose what alerts you want to receive, how you want to receive them, and the frequency. Alert Method options include; Email, Text, or Push Notifications. Push Notifications are received through the Northland Mobile App.
Security Alerts let you know if suspicious activity takes place on your account. Security Alerts cannot be completely disabled. You can choose the method of notification for Security Alerts.
Alert History allows you to see a history of all alerts triggered from your account.
To set up alerts, click on the menu icon, at the botttom right from your mobile app, or upper right on the desktop. Then, select Alerts from the dropdown. Toggle on the buttons next to the alerts you want to recived. Then scroll down to choose how you want to recieve them and hit save.
To set up e-Statements select the Menu button, on the bottom, right on a mobile device and upper right on a desktop.
1. Navigate to Documents and Statements. Then select Paperless Settings.
2. Click the check box next to Documents and Statements to opt in to eStatements, then click Save.
3. Read the disclosure and click Accept & Continue.
Card controls allow you to turn off your Debit Card to disable it if it has been misplaced, lost, or stolen. If you find it, you can quickly turn it back on again.
From your Digital Banking account click on your Checking or Savings account. If you have an eligible card on the account you will see a Card Control Tab.
- Select the Card Control tab
- Toggle the button to turn your card Off and disable card transactions
- Toggle the button On to turn it back on to activate your card for use
Make changes to your username, password, and view which devices are currently registered to access your account. In addition, you can add additional layers of authentication to your login. To activate Security features select the Menu icon at the bottom, right from a mobile device, and upper right on a desktop. Scroll down to Security.
Login to Digital Banking and click on the menu button icon on the bottom right on a mobile device and upper right on a desktop.
- Choose Travel Notices
- Select your Travel Dates and the Card(s) that you will be taking on your trip
- Fill in the required fields and click Submit
Login to your account and:
Click on the menu button on the bottom, right on a mobile device and upper right on a desktop.
- Choose Stop Payment
- Select Stop a Check or Stop an ACH
- Fill in the required information and click Continue
- Verify the Stop Payment Request and click Confirm
- Stop Payment History
If you have multiple accounts (personal, retail, business, etc.), this feature allows you to create a link between those accounts for quicker, easier access when switching between accounts. Once you add your switch account, you can easily switch between accounts by from your desktop by clicking on "The user settings profile image" on the upper right then select one of your other linked profiles. You will be automatically logged into your connected account.
If you're using a mobile device, click on the Menu button, on the bottom, right. Then click on the Switch Profile and you will then be automatically logged into your connected account.
You are only able to view checks for the account you are actively logged into. Please register each of your retail and/or business accounts in order to login and view check images for that specific account.
To view check images, log into your digital banking and select your checking account. You can scroll your history to find the check you want to view, or you may search the check number in the search bar and click on done. Then tap the check graphic to view the check. You have the option to view the front or back of the check.
To view your Stop Payment History log into your account and click on the menu icon on the bottom, right on a mobile device and upper right on a desktop.
- Choose Stop Payment
- Click on History to All Stop Payments, History for Checks, or ACH transactions
Digital gift cards are sent to your email address on file with Northland, as well as available within your Cashback+ Wallet.

A member to member (M2M) transfer is a service that allows Northland digital banking members to safely and instantly move funds from their account to another Northland member's account. To add a M2M in Digital Banking select Transfer, the click the plus sign for Add a Member to Member Account, and follow the prompts. Multi-Factor Authentication, or MFA, is an additional layer of security added to Digital Banking and Bill Pay services. It helps us to verify your identity to ensure that only you have access to your account.
